Lost and Looking

There are many in the world today who have no idea where they are going or what they are doing with their lives. They are lost in the things of this world and see no way out. Some, just like the guy in the picture, do not even know how to right themselves. This is an unfortunate occurrence. There were people in the Bible who were the same way though, and we should point people to them.

Saul was lost and looking in Acts 9. Jesus appeared to him and told him that persecuting the church was wrong. Saul was so distraught that he did not eat or drink anything for three days until Ananias found him and told him what he had to do to be saved.

As Christians, one of the most important things that we are to be is a light to the world. We should be trying to point out what people need to do in order to be right with God. When the Lord told Ananias to go to Saul, he came up with excuses as to why he should not help this man. The response that was given to him is one that we should remember. Acts 9:15 “But the Lord said to him, “Go for he is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before the Gentiles and kings and children of Israel,” (ESV). Saul was a chosen instrument for the Lord. We do not know what people will do if they are led to Christ. What is certain is that, if we do not help people who are lost to find their way, they will stay lost. There are numerous stories of people who were lost, who rejected Christ, and who wanted nothing to do with Christianity, who were led to salvation by people, and they then began to lead others to Him as well.
